Behind the Scenes
Every piece begins long before it reaches the bench. From collecting ideas and sketching to carving wax, casting precious metals and adding the final finishing touches, each stage of the process plays a part in shaping the finished piece.
This page offers a glimpse behind the scenes of Ella Bonomi Jewellery -sharing the creative journey, the making process and the milestones that continue to shape the studio.

In the Studio
Every piece of jewellery is handcrafted in Ella's London studio using traditional jewellery-making techniques. Many designs begin as hand-carved wax sculptures before being cast into precious metal, then carefully refined, polished and finished by hand.
Working on a small scale allows each design to evolve naturally throughout the making process. Rather than rushing from sketch to finished piece, Ella embraces experimentation, allowing the material itself to influence the final form.

From Sketch to Jewellery
Ideas often begin with quiet observation - watching the movement of water, noticing the shape of a flower unfolding, or discovering an unexpected detail in the natural world. These moments are captured through sketches, photographs and notes before gradually evolving into three-dimensional forms.
By carving directly into wax, each design develops organically, creating soft, sculptural surfaces that retain a sense of movement and spontaneity. The result is jewellery that captures not only the appearance of nature, but the feeling and character of a fleeting moment.
